This beautiful Georgian 18ct Gold on Silver bangle is adorned with sparkling Paste Stones, Circa 1800.
The bangle shows 17 glistening Paste stones that graduate in size around the front of the bangle.
Due to its age, Georgian jewellery is quite rare, with some pieces almost three hundred years old. From 1714 until 1837 four King Georges and a short-lived William gave rise to this extended period, spanning many fashions that are reflected in these stunning pieces of Georgian jewellery.
Beautiful workmanship can be seen all round the bangle from the Georgian period.
Paste is hand-cut glass that has been polished with metal powder until it shimmers like a gemstone. They are also a transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones, because they have a relatively high indices of refraction and a strong dispersion.
Steeped in Georgian history.
